The Singapore Association for Medical Laboratory Sciences (SAMLS), under the auspices of the ASEAN Association for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (AACLS) is pleased to announce the 15th ASEAN Conference of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (ACCLS) to be held from 21 – 23 June 2015. The Conference is a 2-yearly event of AACLS. The theme chosen for this Conference is "LABORATORY CHALLENGES & PRACTICES". It is a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 15th Conference.
The Organising Committee has lined up an exciting programme from every Medical Laboratory Scientist and those interested in medical laboratory sciences in this region. Several eminent international and local speakers will be invited to speak on topics and conduct sessions in their fields of expertise. The varied mix of plenary lectures, oral and poster presentations have been carefully selected to ensure a stimulating and wide-ranging Scientific Programme. Delegates will have the opportunity to also exchange their ideas and experience at the Conference. We hope that members and friends would take this opportunity to update themselves as well as to catch up with fellow colleagues.
The social programme for delegates and accompanying guests has been planned to provide not only an introduction to the many scenic attractions of our beautiful garden-convention city, a veritable shopper’s paradise, but also an insight into the rich and unique blend of our multicultural society and cuisine. In addition, arrangements can be made for visits to our equally fascinating ASEAN neighbours. A trade exhibition will also be organised in conjunction with the Conference. This will showcase state-of-the-art medical laboratory equipment and diagnostic aids by leading manufacturers, suppliers and specialists.
On behalf of SAMLS, may I extend this invitation to all our colleagues and friends to come to Singapore to make this event enjoyable, educational and unforgettable one. We look forward to seeing you in Singapore, come 2015.

15th ASEAN Conference of Clinical Laboratory Sciences 2015
The ASEAN Association for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (AACLS) was formerly known as the ASEAN Association of Medical Laboratory Technologists (AAMLT). The signing of the agreement was done at the 1st ASEAN Conference of Medical Laboratory Technology (ACMLT) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur in April 1995. AAMT (Thailand), BAMLS (Brunei), MIMLS (Malaysia), PAMET (Philippines), PATELKI (Indonesia) and SAMLS (Singapore) are member Associations of AACLS.
The objectives of the Association are to foster all aspects of Medical Laboratory Sciences in the region of ASEAN, promote cooperation in scientific exchange among the ASEAN countries, establish a closer professional and personal rapport amongst members, organise a conference meet of the Association every two years, help establish and formulate policies to attain the highest possible level of practice of Medical Laboratory Sciences for the people of ASEAN and promote cordial relationship with other similar organisations sharing the goals of the Association.
The AAMLT Constitution was drafted and adopted during the 1st Biennial General Meeting at the 2nd ACMLT hosted by PAMET (Philippines) in November 1986. In November 1993, AAMLT was formally affiliated with ASEAN during the 1st meeting of the 27th ASEAN Standing Committee held in Bangkok, Thailand. The Constitution was amended and the name AAMLT was changed to the ASEAN Association for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (AACLS) at the 11th ACMLT in May 2006, Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Conference gives a great opportunity to Medical Laboratory Scientists as well as those interested professionals to get together every two years and share new knowledge and technologies in the field of medical laboratory sciences. The Conference also offers the chance to bring forward the ideas and technologies to the next generation as well as the opportunity to network with an international audience of scientists, technologists, executives and decision makers
